Two years ago, Aspen Publishers announced their new “Connected Casebook” model, where students would not be able to buy a textbook, but could only rent it for the semester/year. After a bit of an outrage (started on this blog), Aspen dialed back the program, and allowed students to buy either the traditional version, or the enhanced digital version.
West Academic has announced a new program, “Casebook Plus,” that allows students to buy either the traditional version, or the enhanced version with the digital additions. I am very glad that students still have both options.
