South Texas Law Review Symposium – The Foreign Emoluments Clause: From President Washington to President Trump

September 7th, 2017

On Friday, September 8, the South Texas Law Review will be hosting its 24th Annual symposium on the Foreign Emoluments Clause. This conference germinated shortly after the election, when I suggested to the editors that this could become a timely topic. Over the ensuing months, numerous law suits were filed as the Foreign Emoluments Clause has came to the forefront of constitutional study. We have assembled an all-star lineup, including Andy Grewal (Iowa), Zephyr Teachout (Fordham), Seth Barrett Tillman (Maynooth University), Jane Chong (Lawfare), James Phillips (Berkeley), Sara White (BYU), and myself. The conference will be livestreamed tomorrow at the following links. Even if you are not able to attend in person, we hope you can watch.
