So I guess it’s not the law of the land. A core element of Obamacare is to ensure that all employers–even with employees working only 30 hours provide health insurance–is the employer mandate. It has been delayed until 2016. Now, former White House press secretary says it will probably *never* go into effect.
“I don’t think the employer mandate will go into effect. It’s a small part of the law. I think it will be one of the first things to go,” Gibbs told a crowd in Colorado, according to BenefitsPro.com.
Seeing that the individual mandate hasn’t been particularly effective in nudging people to get insurance, maybe that also will never go into effect. I’ve been thinking about this. I find it really tough to imagine that this time, next year, the administration starts assessing taxes for millions of Americans for not having insurance.
