My first semester of teaching is officially over. This semester I have given talks or  attended conferences in Washington, D.C.,  Fairfax, VA, Kalamazoo, MI, Austin, TX, Philadelphia, Lansing, MI, Chicago, and Palo Alto. In addition, I have travelled to Cleveland, Richmond, New York, and other places for nonwork. That works out to about 17,000 miles in the air in the last 4 months.
