How did the New York Times write an entire article about the Gullah-speaking natives of Georgia without mentioning Justice Clarence Thomas?

Fascinating article, but come on? Thomas is the most-popular native speaker of Gullah around. He even attended the opening of the Pinpoint Heritage Museum dedicated to the Gullah-Geechee culture. It’s even on the Gullah Wikipedia page!
