Well Bancroft is sponsoring the ACS Convention? Bancroft’s start attorney, Paul Clement, is receiving a heap of money from the House Republicans in order to defend the Defense of Marriage Act. So, ACS is taking money from a firm that is paid by the House Republicans to defend a law that perpetuates marriage inequality.
They are also accepting money from Jones Day, who represents the NFIB in the health care litigation. But, that is more remote. JD is a huge firm. Bancroft is, more less, Clement. Money is money, I guess.
For what it’s worth, at the ACS Convention, the sponsors are very prominently advertised. I went to some panel on labor law, and there was a huge sign that said the panel was sponsored by SEIU (as if there was any doubt about the leanings of the panel).
