Earlier this year, the Supreme Court Per Curiam summarily reversed the 9th Circuit’s opinion in Cavazos v. Smith. This reinstated Smith’s sentence, resulting from a “shaken baby” case. Today Governor Wilson commuted her sentence. More from SCOTUSBlog and LA Times.
