This news is not particularly noteworthy, except for the fact that I interned at Verizon Wireless during the summer of 2003 after my freshman year in college. I knew Lowell. He was a great guy. We went to the gym every day during lunch together. At first I had no idea who he was, and just chatted up with him. I then found out he was a VP of the company and I apologized for calling him Lowell. He told me, in the gym to call him by his first name. He was in great shape!
