Holdup Problems on the Tarmac

November 20th, 2011

Josh Wright blogs about a recent holdup problem where some crooked airline demands (fleeces, really) $200 from passengers telling them that they will be stranded unless they pony over cash to pay for fuel. This post is somewhat nostalgic for me because I took Wright for contracts, and he taught me about the holdup doctrine. I remember him teaching us the cases mentioned in this post well. A bit of deja vu.
