Reynolds gripes here. In the two classes I taught at Penn State, I put together a custom course packet that assembled readings from 10 different textbooks, and the total was maybe $50 or $60. The students were very pleased. Going forward, one of my aspirations is to develop an e-textbook that is free of charge.
