Thomas Jefferson: “”The Ohio is the most beautiful river on earth. Its current gentle, waters clear, and bosom smooth and unbroken by rocks and rapids, a single instance only excepted.”

As he wrote in his famous Notes on the State of Virginia. I saw it today for the first time in Kentucky. It was quite beautiful. Fitting that I came from outside Pittsburgh, where the Allegheny and Monongahela merge to form the Ohio.

Also in TD news. Louisville is in Jefferson County, Kentucky, which was originally in the Commonwealth of Virginia. I love the street naming conventions here.  In a few block span walking around, I crossed Jefferson Street, Liberty Street, Market Street, Washington Street, Witherspoon (signer of Declaration) Street, Washington Street, Bingham (drafter of 14th Amendment) Street. I like Louisville, so far.
