International Law Schools and Non-Lawyers Providing Legal Services

June 11th, 2011

Cornell Law School formed a partnership with Indian Law School. With moves like this popping up more and more, could accreditation of foreign law schools, such as those in China, be far behind?

In England we are already seeing deregulation which permits business owned by non-lawyers to perform tasks historically restricted to the attorney cartel. These changes will soon enough come to America.

Changes are afoot in our profession. Competition will only get stiffer for new attorneys–both from abroad, and from non-lawyers.
