Justice Kennedy on the Difference Between “Professional Responsibility” and “Legal Ethics”

On the topic of ethics, Kennedy touched upon the distinction between professional responsibility and legal ethics, noting that the latter term “ensures there is a right or a wrong.”

Michael Kraus, my dear friend and former professor who teaches Professional Responsibility, insists on calling the class Legal Ethics. I couldn’t agree more.
