JoshBlackman.com Hits 6,000 Blog Posts, and Makes The Law Prof Blog Rankings

July 17th, 2013

Some point last week I crossed the 6,000 blog post threshold. I hit 1,500 posts on 1/19/2011 and 2,000 posts on 5/10/2011. During my hiatus from August 2011 to August 2012, I hit 3,000 posts on 11/14/2011, 3,500 posts on 2/1/2012, 4,000 posts on 4/13/2012, and4,500 posts on 7/27/2012. On April 16, 2013, I hit 5,000 posts. I’m averaging a thousand posts every four months.

Also, this milestone marks the first time I have cracked TaxProfBlog’s Law Prof Blog Rankings, as measured from July 1, 2012-June 30, 2013. I am ranked #29 for page views, with 279,253, and increase of 126.5% (the biggest increase on the board). I am ranked #28 for visitors with 186,427, an increase of 108.8%. I should note that my blog was on hiatus for most of July 2012.

I am still honored and flattered that so many people choose to read my content. If you enjoy reading, please take a moment to submit an ABA Journal Blawg 100 Amici for JoshBlackman.com. With your nomination, I may be selected for the ABA Journal Blawg 100.

You can submit a nomination here. Please do so before August 9 (I understand that statute of limitations will not be equitably tolled).

JoshBlackman.com Hits 3,500 Posts

February 1st, 2012

Well at this point I’m up to 3521, but I forgot to mark the 3500th post last week.

I hit 2,300 posts on July, 10 2011. 2,433 on August 11, 2011 when my blog went on hiatus. I hit 2,700 posts on September 17, 2011. I hit 3,000 posts on November 14, 2011. And 3,500 posts on about January 27, 2012.

So somewhere between 200 posts a month, on average. That is like 6 or 7 a day.

I’ve been keeping a pretty good clip during my hiatus. I hope someone appreciates it!

Usually when a major league baseball player gets 3,000 hits, he is guaranteed entrance into the Hall of Fame. So where does 3,000 hits leave a blogger? Mind you, I wrote those post during the span of about 27 months where blogging was only my part-time job?

Not bad considering I hit 2,433 on August 11, 2011 when my blog went on hiatus. That means I have written 277 blog posts in the past month. I think my rate has actually increased!

I’m catching up to Derek Jeter…I think I’ll get to 3,000 quicker than he did 🙂

And I’m closing in on 350,000 total hits!
