James Deen (note the spelling), a porn star, seems to think so. He said, “the reason why condoms shouldn’t be mandated is that it is a violation of my First Amendment rights.”
Deen said on HuffPost Live Monday that the mandate, which passed in LA as Measure B in November, restricts his artistic vision.
“Let’s say I want to make a movie about a husband and wife trying to have a baby … How am I going to make that movie with condoms?” he asked. “Regardless of if you see it [Porn] as art or not, it’s constitutionally protected.”
He explains how different “films” he has made are protected artistic expression.
