Booth said the members of the IGM Economic Experts Panel were chosen “to include distinguished experts with a keen interest in public policy from the major areas of economics, to be geographically diverse, and to include Democrats, Republicans and Independents as well as older and younger scholars.”
“Our hunch is that letting everyone see where a diverse range of experts agree, and how clear the reasons are where they disagree, can show the public what economists think are the biggest policy tradeoffs,” Mr. Barry said.
