Google Adds a Dictionary, Black’s Law Dictionary Should Look Out

I previously blogged about Google Scholar now including case law. Lexis and Westlaw beware.

Now, Google added a fully functional dictionary. (H/T TechCrunch).

Interestingly, the current dictionary provided definitions of some key legal terms: Rule Against Perpetuities, escheatinterpleader, novation, and others.

A full legal dictionary should not be too far down the road.

Black’s Law Dictionary should look out for the Internet’s Leviathan.

Be aware, these legal words aren’t actually in Google’s new dictionary. Instead, they are a different view of what you would see if you entered [define: escheat] in the regular Google search box. They are web definitions–available from reputable and obscure websites alike. To see what Google’s dictionary really looks like, try a non-law word like doldrums.
