Audio: Post-Election Talk on Gridlock and Executive Power at University of Chicago Federalist Society Chapter

November 10th, 2014

On Thursday, 11/6, two days after the midterm election, I gave my final Federalist Society talk of the semester to the University of Chicago chapter. It was fitting that we discussed the next two years of gridlock and executive power in the former home of the main actor in that conflict. (Alas, I was moved from Classroom V,which had the Obama portrait outside, to Classroom II).

In this talk, I addressed what lies ahead for our polity in the next two years, with a special focus on the President’s past efforts at executive action.

Also, while there I visited with my buddy Will Baude, whose office is next to Richard Epstein. As it turns out, Epstein has so many books, that he has commandeered two huge bookshelves in the library outside his room to store his collection.
